Today I went to a meeting with Andrew's teacher, resource teacher, principal and other Special Education team members to discuss Andrew's progress. I was so happy to learn that he tested right at his actual age level (6 years and 7 months) in academics, and he no longer qualifies for resource. He will still get speech therapy and an occupational therapist will come work with him on fine-motor skills, but other than that he's doing GREAT! Back in our NICU days, I didn't know what the future would hold for him. For such a premature infant, he really is a miracle. I was reminded how blessed we are and that he is truly amazing!
