Okay, I am trying to be a supportive mother right now, but I'm fairly disgusted at the racket The Boy Scouts of America is running.I now have an eight year old. Don't get me wrong. I'm all for silly hand signals, weird clap patterns, and funny little sayings. I'm all for teaching our sons to survive and to love their country. I'm happy that my son gets to go run around with other 8,9, and 10 year old boys every Tuesday evening.
I am not; however, for spending $30 on a blue, polyester shirt, $9 on a cub scout Wolf handbook, and $12 more on troop numbers, a neckerchief and slide. I just gave the Boy Scouts of America more money than I spent on myself for Mother's Day. I RARELY buy myself a $30 shirt, let alone my 8 year old kid. I'm all about $5 t-shirts at Old Navy or Target.
Am I just cheap?

I have to agree with ya Nat. We just got Aaron and Andrew attire and it's way expensive.
Get used to it. It all goes financially downhill from here. Wait until the girls are in college and still batting their eyes at(George) oops, Brian.
I guess we have to remember how much money our parents spent on those AWESOME hot pink one-piece leo's we wore with Jazz'n Place! However, Boy scouts is a much more worthy cause than dance.
Thanks for the heads up about the "cost" of Boy Scouts. I will be needing it in a few years.
B.S. is what the B.S.A's all about!
I love it, Ashley and Dave. Amen to that!
