Later in the evening, we went over to my parents' house for dinner and fireworks. We were the only family there, along with Jeff and my parents. It actually turned out to be really fun, and the kids had a really fun time (even without their cousins). Jeff lit all the fireworks, and the kids got to take turns choosing which ones they wanted. It was really funny actually. It didn't take us long to realize that due to regulations on fireworks, they really have become quite pathetic. What happened to the days of flowers, tanks, bottle rockets, decent-sized fountains and Roman candles? Now all the fountains are the exact same fountain with different packaging. We were laughing at the names of the fireworks: Precious Stones, Sonic Boom, Happy Flowers etc. Brian said at one point, "The only way I'm going to be happy is if that thing actually shoots out precious stones."
Well, after the lighting of the dummed-down fireworks, we went to watch the fireworks at Thanksgiving Point. By this time, the kids were exhausted, and Andrew was whining continually, but we managed to get through those fireworks, which were pretty good. (Not quite as good as the Kaysville Fireworks; however we were happy not to hear the same musical arrangement for the umpteenth year in a row).
We came home exhausted after a very long day and immediately went to bed!

I'll check and see if someone got some pictures ... I'll bet Stephanie or Mike got some! Paul was so preoccupied with trying to fix the TV that I don't think he tought about the camera and I didn't! We will for sure take pictures next time we get the kids on the slide! That was so much fun! Next time it should be a whole lot warmer for the kids! Their poor little lips were blue but they didn't care because they were having so much fun!
Are we sure I'm not pregnant? The sight of your kids, Jeff, and Dad's truck got me a little teary-eyed! I wish I could have been there. I need an update, so I'll call you soon.
And yes...we're sure I'm not pregnant.
We are so glad you came to do fireworks even if they were pathetic. A trip to Wyoming in June next year may be in order. The whole day would have been pathetic if you hadn't joined us.
Haha, I didn't expect to read about my mother's plans to thwart the law when I came to your blog today, Nat! Yeah, about that picture of me that made Lindsay cry, I think that's a good indication that you should remove it. It's liable to make everyone cry who sees it!
