Spring Break?

NOT! This is not a break.

Now I don't want to be a whiny whinerson, but I'm still waiting for my break. First of all, Monday and Tuesday, the weather was crappy. So, what did we do? We stayed inside. I've decided that keeping the kids indoors all day produces horrible behavior. My kids have resorted to fighting...a lot. Here is a battle wound on Ava's face. The scratch was provoked and deserved, trust me.We did manage to go over to Shelley's for a few hours yesterday, and that part of Spring Break was my sanity saver. Had I been home with these hooligans all day yesterday, today I may have committed myself to the loony bin. This does not bode well for the upcoming Summer Break. Let's hope for better things tomorrow and Friday. We're supposed to go to the Zoo with Brian's Mom and Sister on Friday, so hopefully we'll all be happy and well-behaved; including the weather.

Because Spring Break has been a let down thus far, I'll talk about Easter. Our Easter was really fun this year. We spent Saturday afternoon at Shelley's house, egg-hunting, playing, and eating good food. I, of course, forgot my camera. Shelley and Chad, of course, won the adult egg hunt. Grandma Shar fills the adults eggs with money, and for a few minutes, we all run around the yard, pushing each other and trash talking, while searching for the big one; the 20 dollar egg. I don't know how Chad and Shelley do it, but they win every single year. We usually come in 2nd, which was the case again this year. Sacrilege? Maybe. But, it sure is fun.

On Easter morning, we woke up, saw what the Easter Bunny brought, watched conference, and headed to Brian's parent's house for another egg hunt and good food. The kids enjoyed their loot...and enjoyed egg-hunting at Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house.

We had a really great time with our families, and I'm hoping for better things the next few days. I'm hopeful that as the weather improves, so will our happiness....hopefully. A picture of this happy, chunky monkey is sure to improve my mood. I'm pretty sure she's the cutest baby alive.

At least our worldly egg hunt was on Saturday, not Sunday. I need to come and tend soon so I can hold our chunky Sadie and enjoy the wild hooligans.

I love it! That would be the best easter egg hunt ever. Do you think we could try the adult easter egg hunt at the next Ellison family reunion? I'm imagining the chaos. . . think of my dad and Uncle Jim. . .

Anyway, I also wanted to comment on your daughter's AWESOME hairdo in the first easter picture. Don't you love the bedhead? How do kids achieve that look?

I'm liking the adult easter egg hunt idea. I'll have to suggest that to my parents for next year!

Hope you survived the rest of Spring Break. That little Sadie is a chunky one, but SO very sweet! Cute Easter Pics. Sorry you lost the egg hunt. There is always next year!
