Easter Weekend

Wow! What an eventful weekend we had! I feel like I've been running non-stop. Andrew had school off on Friday, and we had his "friend" birthday party on Saturday. He wanted a Utah Jazz/Basketball theme, so that's what we did. We started with a "decorate your own Utah Jazz logo" activity. Then we played "pin the basketball on the basketball player." We followed with "who can make the longest shot?" I was really surprised on that one. Andrew was the only kid who made a shot. This, of course, follows his 5 years of constant shooting practice. We then had a basketball pinata, which I filled with way too much candy. I profusely apologized to all the parents, seeing as how it was also Easter weekend. Finally, we opened presents and had basketball cupcakes and ice cream. Here are a few pictures:
Then, on Sunday we woke up, saw what the Easter bunny had brought, got all the kids ready for church, went to church (where Ella FINALLY went to nursery all by herself for the first time), came home and changed clothes, had an Easter egg hunt and backyard playtime with the Smith cousins, took baths and went to bed. This all may not seem as crazy as it was, but believe me...I'm pooped! Here are some more pics of all the Easter celebrating:
Why do we mothers subject ourselves to all this "craziness?" My husband has asked me this question several times, and my only response is, "Because I love to watch my kids have fun and be happy!" So, even though it was very crazy, it was all worth it!

Holy cow - I feel exhausted just reading about your weekend!! What a fun mom you are! I'm afraid my creativity will be greatly lacking when my kids are able to request birthday themes...

What a cute bday party idea! Just a bday party alone can be enough to wipe out any mom...but then to have all of the Easter planning on top of that?! I bet you're tired!! I can't believe how much our families are alike. I am getting ready to post an easter family picture of us standing in front of the mantle and my boys are wearing the same Easter sweaters as yours are!! great minds think alike right?!! :)

Sorry we didn't make it to the party! I was totally planning on it, but we ended up spending half the day at the Salt Flats (or driving there). It looks like it was so much fun. Did Andrew like his gift from Ashton?

ps. Do you like "Dan in Real Life" too? I want that soundtrack!

You are amazing! I seriously don't know how you do it! What a fun Easter you had!
BTW, sorry I have not gotten back to you about A. Day ideas. Chanelle and I have gotten a few off the internet (google it). Did you know you gained 3 newbies over the last 2 weeks? Good luck! :)
