High Aspirations
So I'm driving in the van with my kids today, and Andrew says, "Mom, when I grow up I want to be a BYU football player." Then Noah says, "When I grow up, I want to be an astronaut." Then Ella says, "When I grow up, I want to be a mermaid!" She has this fascination with mermaids right now. In fact, every time she happens to see Mom in one of her bras, she says, "Mom, there are your mermaids," as she is pointing right toward Mom's chest area. Thank you so much Walt Disney for dressing a timeless character in a skimpy shell bra. My daughter and I appreciate it!

Natalie,
That is so funny! I couldn't stop laughing. My kids kept asking "What mom, what's so funny?" -Good times. Thanks for the laugh.
What do we do with these girls? Allison asked me the other day, "Mommy, when I grow up, I have big 'mermaids' too?" (Mermaids was NOT the term she used. It was much more graphic.) She has also taken to wearing my bra ON HER HEAD if she finds one out.
Natalie, thank you for posting this; it really made me laugh. I am just so grateful that my girls aren't the only ones so fascinated with their (and my) "mermaids." Talia draws pictures of Ariel all the time with the shells and everything! We admire her artwork and then try to encourage her to draw Cinderella or something. But Ariel is her favorite, so I, also, am extremely grateful to Walt Disney! Whew! That was a long comment, sorry.
Hey Natalie,
I got your blog off of Shelley's. I hope you don't mind. I'm a bit of a blog spy. Anyway, your kids are darling! I can't believe how big they are getting.
Jen
Haha! What a funny girl! We definitely need to get our boys together...they want to be BYU football players too! :)
At least your daughter doesn't keep looking at you with a puzzled glance that says, "Where are the "mermaids"?
