I watched Masterpiece Theater's, Sense and Sensibility last night, and I am not ashamed to say, I loved it!! Okay, so I'm a sucker for anything related to Jane Austen, no matter how poor the movie or how inaccurate the adaptation. What made this version so wonderful was that the adaptation was very accurate to the novel and completely entertaining! I liked this version even more than Hollywood's version (with Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, and Hugh Grant). The actors were very good and were all pretty well "unknown" to American film. That's what made it so great!! Obviously, all these actors were British, and they were all so much more believable as Austen characters. I absolutely loved the portrayals of Elinor, Marianne, Brandon, Edward, and Willoughby. Okay, I loved it all!!! This post is mostly for Mom, Shell and Lin, because the rest of you probably think I'm psycho. I know my husband does! He made fun of the goofy grin I had on my face the entire show. What can I say? I don't delight in many movies, but this one will go down as one of Natalie's top 10!!

Haha! I too was in front of the TV last night watching one of my favorite bonnet movies! I loved every minute of it!
K- Shelley's DVR didn't record the end, so we missed it!! OH DEAR!! I thoroughly enjoyed what we saw though. I need to order it off PBS so it can become our new Pride and Prejudice!!!
YES! I will split the cost with you if you don't want your own copy. Let me know!
Hey, the fact that Brian would watch a "chic show" WITH you (Kurt's term) is the best part!!
I don't think Brian did much watching.....wait a sec......He must be watching to be able to accurately poke fun. I have a new theory at work here. I think Bri likes the films, but can't let on, so he lobs a jeer now and again, just to save face, whilst soaking up every romantic gem in the film. It's o.k., Brian. Now that your out of the costume-drama closet, you can hang out with Chad and watch openly. (He claims he doesn't need to see them more than once....but he does see them once:)
Hey, I want in on the PBS purchase. I liked the casting in this version.
