Choirs of Angels are singing BECAUSE...

Ella FINALLY pooped on the potty! Yes, it's true. This is a HUGE momentous occasion. I take no credit for this event. I give all credit to my friend, Kelly. She gave me one idea that I hadn't yet tried, and it worked like a charm.
After church yesterday, I took Ella's underwear away and told her she couldn't wear any big girl panties until she pooped on the potty. Yep, she went "panty-less" all day yesterday. (She had on a long dress, so you couldn't see anything. :0) She kept crying for her big girl panties because she really wanted to just poop in them. I stuck to my guns and continued to tell her that she couldn't have them back until she pooped on the potty.

Well, she held it all day, until finally at about 10:00 PM, she could hold it no longer. By her own free will, she got on the toilet and pooped! Now, she is as proud as a peacock and keeps telling me that pooping on the potty is not scary and that she is going to keep pooping on the potty. I'm hoping this trend continues.

THANKS KEL!!! We couldn't have done it without your brains!!!

I've thought about that tactic, but I'm so worried that I'd just end up with a big pile of poo on my carpet, in a corner somewhere. so glad it worked for you!

I'm so glad to hear you were able to find something that worked. That does not sound like a fun thing to have to deal with. Thanks for talking about all the adventures in training your children - believe me, I'm taking lots of mental notes!

Wahoo! Going commando did the trick. I wish I would have known this little trick when we worked with Manny. It really is a disgusting project we moms must undertake! Only one more to go! We should set up a help line for each other.

That is truely a wonderful moment I am sure. I feel your pain/now enjoyment because Julie was the same way with the pooping. I had purses away and that seemed to work. Congrats and tell Ella great work.

Congratulations Nat and Ella! What a wonderful thing. I wish we could just hire someone to come and potty train our kids for us. Cameron is showing signs and I am completely ignoring them until after the holidays are over!
