We've had a busy few weeks, and I still haven't posted anything about our annual Willow Flat camping trip. It's a campground in southern Idaho; just northeast of Preston. Anyway, much to my chagrin, I didn't go this year due to pregnancy and the need for close proximity to a toilet. I did get to sleep over at my Mom's house and watch a movie with my Mom, sister and Grandma (Oh how I love a good 19th century British drama).
Brian took the 3 oldest kids with him, and apparently the trip was a success. Brian's parents and sister Lesa and her family also attended this year. This was Ella's first camping trip (sad, I know); and she apparently LOVED it. The kids got to play in the river (don't worry, it's shallow and very non-scary), go for a hike, paint rocks, and roast marshmallows and such other camping activities. They came home exhausted but could not stop talking about their adventures. I can't wait to go next year, and Ava should be old enough to take along. New baby will be staying with a babysitter.
The past week of this pregnancy has been quite possibly the worst week thus far. I have had a few migraines, which tend to make the nausea worse. I'm also growing rapidly; which has me super terrified that I could possibly be carrying twins. I know, I know...fifth child. But, I have NEVER grown this fast (not with child #3 or #4). Considering how much I throw up, I would think that I shouldn't be growing like this.
I have of course been to the doctor, but right when they placed the "listening to heartbeat" thingy on my stomach, they found the heartbeat. So I keep thinking, "They should have moved it around a lot more to check for another heartbeat." I know...I'm paranoid. I think next time I'll make them check for sure. I even made Brian take a picture of my stomach, and then when I saw it, I erased it because I was so annoyed by how big it is. It's going to be a long 25 weeks.
Well, on a happier note, Brian took loads of pictures of the Willow Flat excursion, so here are a few:

A few things...1. A British Drama without me? I'm jealous. 2. I WILL babysit said baby/babies (if the twin thing is true) next summer. 3. I love EJ's hair-cut. Adorable. 4. Are you sure you don't want to cut this pregnancy in half and find out what you're having in 5 short weeks? I will even knit something really cute for baby (like something pink or blue, not yellow or green) if we can find out! 5. Get feeling better! 6. I'm getting excited to return. Any chance you'll come with me to the gym to walk on the treadmill? I need my partner back!
Natalie,
I'm sorry that you've been so sick. I hope it won't last much longer. I'm home a lot more now, so we should get our kids together to play. -Or, I can take some of them if you need to let a migraine run it's course. That would be exciting if you had twins -(Although, I still think you're only having one girl). Give me a call.
I'm sorry you are feeling so sick still. Hopefully you will start feeling better soon.
I find it hilarious that while Ella's face may be dirty in the picture, her hair is perfect. Love the 'do.
Hope that the nausea passes soon Natalie. I feel the same way during the first few months too. I love the camping pics of your kids. Ella is looking so much older to me these days. What cute kids!
Migraines and pregnancy cannot be fun. If I wasn't worried about jinxing myself I'd say pregnancy seems to have cured me of them (haven't had one since - knock on wood).
The camping trip talk has got me excited for ours coming up shortly. Sounds like they had great fun. I was hoping Ryan would be walking by then to cut down slightly on the dirt build up, but that's life I guess.
The camping trip was a lot of fun! We did feel bad that Natalie and little Miss Ava couldn't be there but we'll do it again next summer! Andrew, Noah and Ella somehow got pine gum on their faces and I really did try to clean their faces off but that was easier said than done! The kids all had a ball!!!
I don't know what Lindsay is thinking...she won't be around to babysit next summer but I will and I volunteer for the job. We may have to watch the British drama with a smaller crowd. but we will begin to train #5 to love the true English language as a part of the Ricks heritage.
Holy crap - how did I miss your post saying you were pregnant?? I had to go back and re-read! Wow - congrats!!! So sorry you've been extremely sick. Not to heighten your concerns, but they do say that it's twice as bad with twins... You really should have them pull out the ultrasound sooner than later, especially if you're not going to find out the gender anyway. I'm dying to know now! Seems like everyone is having twins - except for my high school girl friend who is having TRIPLETS!!! (NOT on fertility...) Anyway, congrats again - and good luck!!!!
Sucks that you are sick! Glad that you could have some alone time though :)
looks like fun, to bad you have been sick. Nat, I totally got nostalgic reading your post..I had to look up the definition of the word chagrin!!(can't believe I admitted that) It was so fun being your roommate!
Natalie! I'm so sorry that you are so sick! Seriously, the migraines alone and then you throw being pregnant in there. You are a trooper! I'm glad that you got to have a fun girls night with your fam!
