Catching Up

I have lots of things to post about and can't remember them all. I guess I'll just detail the highlights. First of all, the next member of our little (or not-so-little) family is healthy and looks fabulous on ultrasound, and...is another girl. I know I have previously talked about waiting to find out the gender, but as soon as I started seeing all the cute baby clothing, that plan went out the window. Now I can go buy the cutest little velour giraffe print sleeper and not feel even the slightest bit guilty!

School is going great for everyone. We have been dealing with illness the last couple days, but I think we're on the mend...hopefully. Andrew is a happy second grader and rides the bus with confidence. Noah loves Kindergarten and tells me daily about his new friends. And Ella has REALLY surprised me. She went to preschool without hesitation, has made lots of new little friends, and comes out with a smile on her face every day. Seeing as how we STILL can't get her to go to her primary class by herself, this is a huge surprise. Her preschool teacher is awesome, so I guess I can't be too surprised that she loves going. This picture is her very first day of preschool:

On Labor Day, Brian had work off, so we decided to spend the day in Logan. We haven't been there for a long time, and I don't think we've ever taken all the kids for a Logan outing. We ate at The Bluebird (which is 100% necessary when in Logan), walked around campus, got Aggie Ice Cream (also 100% necessary) and showed the kids where we lived in Logan. The kids really enjoyed themselves, which is funny because we didn't really participate in any "kid" activities. It's funny how getting away made the kids feel like we were doing something special, even though we didn't really "do" anything. Here we are (minus myself) at The Bluebird:

The kids on the steps of Old Main

Noah is playing soccer now, which is really entertaining to watch. He really just wants to socialize with the other kids and doesn't care much where the ball is or what's going on in the game. As soon as all the kids get in a huddle and start trying to kick the ball, Noah gets out of there. He's not the most assertive child.

I LOVE this picture. This is what Noah does at soccer games!

Yep, there's Noah watching in the background.

As far as this pregnancy is concerned, I'm only half way but am ready to be done. I never did understand women who really enjoyed pregnancy, because I just can't seem to enjoy much about throwing up several times a day and dealing with sporadic migraines. Half the time, I'm sprawled out on the couch while my poor children are entertained by the tube. It has been a rough ride, but as every woman who has experienced pregnancy knows, there is nothing like feeling the baby move inside you, and there is no better feeling than seeing that little face for the first time. So, despite my barfing and headaches, I am thrilled to bring another baby girl into our family and can't wait to meet her.

I've been lazy about this blog and have missed posting about many events and occurrences, so as summer draws to an end, I am making a commitment to post at least once a week. I plan to turn my blog into a book (a family journal of sorts), so I need to be better about documenting our lives, even if nobody cares about it except myself.

I love to read your posts Nat. It's fun to see what's going on with everyone. I'm trying to write more often as well. It's hard to find time to write in a journal. -Plus blogs are fun because there are pictures to go with it.

Great pictures. I can't believe how fast they are all growing up. Thanks for posting because it is a fun way for grandma's to know what is going on too. I can't wait to go shopping for another beautiful baby girl.

Logan, sweet Logan. I still remember meeting you for the first time when you came to the boys apartment. Those were the days. I truly do miss it sometimes....any names for the little one?

Congrats on the "girl"! I think it is fun you took your little family to Logan, what a fun little family date. I love the picture of Noah standing on his head in soccer! How cute. So glad we have blogs to keep in touch!

oh, the good old days at USU. I do admit whenever I go to Logan I get a bit nostalgic. Did you show your kids the "A" where you two became true Aggies?!!!!!

P.S. that pic of Noah made me laugh so hard...kids are so cute!

Oh course we care about all your latest "happ's!" Glad school's going well for everyone. Looks like you have an MVP of a soccer player (or, at least, head-stander). That's one skill I never quite mastered.
