Halloween Adventures

We had a crazy, busy Halloween this year. When Halloween falls on a Saturday, it makes life interesting. Instead of one day of chaos, you get two. Because there was no school on Saturday, all the school festivities took place on Friday. So, Friday the 30th, we got to attend 2 Halloween parades and 1 preschool activity, plus I helped with Noah's class party. To top it off, our ward decided to do the annual Trunk-or-Treat on Friday night, so it was extra crazy.

Noah sporting his Utah Jazz jersey. This was his costume of choice.

Ella the mermaid.

3 tired kids waiting for Andrew's Halloween parade to begin. Ava would not wear her pumpkin costume!
Andrew, the Dark Knight. He wasn't allowed to wear his mask with
attached cape to school.

So Saturday we also had a busy day. In the afternoon, Grandma Shar threw quite the Halloween party for the grandkids. They got to put together a Halloween witch's brew, make ghost suckers and create monsters with their own scary faces. The festivities ended with a movie. Being the teacher that she is, Grandma knows how to entertain the kids. They had a great time with their cousins.

Oh Grandma Shar, you outdid yourself. The witch's brew was awesome! I think Grandma secretly loves Halloween. Although she has complained about the holiday my entire life, she puts on a grand Halloween extravaganza!

Sabrina the happy butterfly

Aunt Lin and Lucy, the tired butterfly. Apparently she wouldn't wear her wings or headband. She didn't need them. She's the sweetest, most adorable baby ever!

The 5 boys: Jack, Jacob, Andrew, Noah and Ryan. They have such fun together.

Ella and her idol, Maya.

Aunt Shelley, Ava and Nolan. Noly's turkey costume was my personal favorite! The only costume I could get Ava to wear was this spider costume that Andrew wore back in the day...not very "female," but hey, it wasn't a battle to pick.

We ended our Halloween adventures by trick-or-treating with the Radmalls and Sampsons in the Radmall's neighborhood. All-in-all, Halloween was fairly enjoyable, and despite dealing with super sugared-up children, it was pretty fun.

I have to admit Halloween is a great holiday when you don't have to do it with 30 kids at school. It's much better with the ones you love at home. (Not that I didn't love my students; just not in costume, hyped up on sugar and anticipation while you were trying to teach them.)

I'm so glad I got to see the kids in their costumes! They were darling! It looks like Shar really threw a fun party for the kids! Those are fun ideas for future parties we have with the Pinson side of the family. I'm going to have to write them down!
