Recliner for Sale???

For FHE tonight, we carved our pumpkins. There are so many crazy, fandangled things out there for pumpkin carving now, and I'm wondering what happened to a normal, good old-fashioned jack-o-lantern. I've seen lights, jewels, special stickers etc. in the stores. I can't figure out why anyone would spend money on that stuff. I just can't bring myself to do it.

Anyhow, we had fun (well, Brian and I had fun....kind of). Here's the problem. I can't give my kids knives quite yet, so Brian and I end up doing all the carving. The kids are disgusted by digging out pumpkin guts with their hands, so we end up doing that as well. Basically, the night entailed the kids drawing pictures or explaining how they wanted their pumpkins to look, and Brian and I did the job. I'm amazed by those pumpkin artists. It really isn't an easy task.

We've been experiencing illness at our house for the past week. Last week, Andrew came down with some stomach bug and missed school for 3 days. Then, over the weekend, the coughing began. Now Noah, Ella, and Ava all have nasty upper-respiratory stuff going on, and I think I've picked up Andrew's stomach bug. My doctor's office told me to give the coughers Benadryl at bedtime to dry them out and help them sleep. No objections here! :0) I'm just glad the stuff makes my kids sleepy and not hyper.

Now if I could find anything to help me sleep, that would be fantastic. I can't sleep flat anymore, because I wake up with horrible back pain. So, I have to prop myself up with pillows and hope for the best. Right now, I'd spend my last dime on one of those really ugly, old-school La-z-boys. They might not be so pleasing to the eye, but man, they are comfy. This pregnancy is turning me into a 70-year-old man.

Such cute pumpkins. You and Brian do great work! Congrats on scheduling your c-section date. The end is in sight! I hope you find a nice comfy recliner. Jake bought me a crazy pillow my last pregnancy that is in the shape of an "C" and it was quite nice. Here's to many peaceful sleeping nights!

I'm impressed with your pumpkin carving skills! We only did one this year - and Jeff did it, not me.
I hope the recliner makes for a better night's sleep for you. I spent the last 3 months of pregnancy sleeping nights in a recliner - carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms and upper back pain. The recliner definitely made things better, though I was grateful to go back to sleeping in a bed once Ryan was born!

I slept so much better on the couch during my pregnancy but I still was never really comfortble. A recliner would be great! Your kids are so cute and so are the pumpkins!
