Andrew's Baptism

This morning, Brian baptized and confirmed Andrew, and it was a really wonderful morning. As he was confirmed a member of the church, Brian gave him an inspired blessing, and the Spirit was so strong. From Andrew's humble beginnings to the present time, he's always been a fighter, and I know now he will fight for what is right and true.

We were so happy that we were able to have my sisters, brother, parents, grandma, and Brian's parents and grandma there. They are so supportive of us and of our children. Family is truly the greatest blessing, and I am so happy to have so many wonderful family members.

As Andrew opened gifts from his cousins, Grandparents, and Great-Grandma, he was so excited. They all gave him some very special mementos to help him remember this special day. Brian and I gave him his own set of scriptures, and it was so fun to watch his excitement when he saw them. I don't think I would have been nearly as excited at his age, and I am so proud of the kid he is.

I am so amazed that Andrew has reached this milestone and am even more amazed at his understanding of baptism and the gospel. There is no doubt that Heavenly Father has truly saved his most spiritual children for this time. It has been incredible to talk with him about baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost these past few months. I know his determination and faith will be a help to him in the future, and I want him to know how proud I am to be his Mom and that he is a great example to me. I love you Andrew!!!

Congrats Andrew! I can't believe how fast time flies-we'll be doing that in just one short year. It is amazing to see how much our children seem to know at such a young age isn't it? I'm glad it was such a nice day.

I'm really glad I was able to be there! You mentioned that you don't think you'd be as excited as Andrew to get scriptures at that age, I know that I wasn't! I've always felt bad, but when I turned 8 I remember that I got a bunch of scouts stuff and grandma and grandpa got me my own set of scriptures. After I'd opened my gifts and the party was winding down I was sitting next to grandma with my scriptures and I said, "Is that all?" Fortunately she just laughed it off, but how greedy a kid was I!? Haha. Andrew's a great kid!
